My take on the famous Dylan Thomas poem, “Do not go gentle into that good night.”
Go gently into the good night for the night only leads to a new dawn.
Be not afraid of the dying of the light, for it gives way to the soft refulgence of a new light.
When that final moment comes, it comes as a friend…
Approach the light with wonder.
For the light is permanent and is love.
Do not rage at the loss of the physical body for the remains are just that.
Grieve the loss of loved ones because you will never meet in this carnation again.
Death is not the end but Samsara.
Both friends and enemies alike entered your sphere with purpose.
The lessons were always there, and the hurt was as important as the good.
And it matters not when they arrive at Heaven’s portal.
One by one they have left us, but each crossed our paths with purpose.
The dark passenger always sits beside us.
But the departed await at the portal,
They are waiting at the light.
Waiting for your arrival.
It is love that is never gone.
It transcends time, space, and light.
It is translucent and is part of your soul.
Time is a measure, but time is not eternal,
For the common deeds of every day
Are ringing bells tolling in the far away.
So do not fear the dying of the light.
Wise women and men at their end know the dark leads to light.,
We grieve because of the end, unsure of what is to follow.
But just the same, go gently into that good night.
Grieve for as long as it takes.
But know that the separation of spirit is only temporary.
We are spiritual beings’ and life is but a short pause.
Do not fear the dying of the light.
We are all walking each other home.
There are those who leave the path earlier than we would like.
But in the end, we all catch up and walk together.
Go gentle into that good night.
